Work history

Jonathan's work spans over three decades in multiple sectors. He currently is an in-house General Counsel, and also provides part-time legal consultancy through MyInHouseLawyer.

In-house General Counsel

Jonathan has worked at the Grain and Feed Trade Organisation (GAFTA) since 2014. Over 80% of world trade in grains is regulated under GAFTA contracts.

As the Group General Counsel and a GAFTA CMC Registered Mediator, Jonathan is responsible for all group legal affairs. He advises on all legal aspects of GAFTA's UK and international operations and is a member of the executive management team and adviser to the board.

His main focuses at GAFTA are international arbitration and dispute resolution, commercial contracts, corporate, and employment law.

For GAFTA he has lectured extensively on international arbitration and commercial contract disputes at events in Singapore, North America, the UAE, Canada, India and throughout Europe.

Responsible for all the Group's legal, company secretarial and compliance/regulatory matters, as well as shareholder and investor relations.
